CHROME WAVES – Decibel Magazine Premieres Official Video For “Past The Lights” As A Grief Observed LP Nears Release Via Disorder Recordings

Decibel Magazine is hosting the public premiere of “Past The Lights,” the latest single from CHROME WAVES‘ impending debut LP, A Grief Observed. As the record nears March release through Disorder Recordings, the song is delivered through the band’s first official video, directed, filmed, and edited by Eddie of Curran Enterprise Films.

CHROME WAVES – containing former members of Wolvhammer, Nachtmystium, Abigail Williams, The Gates Of Slumber, Amiensus, and more – returns with a new lineup on their first full-length, A Grief Observed. The record was engineered by Niko Albanese with the band’s James Benson and Jeff Wilson and finished with artwork by Wilson.

Wilson offers with the premiere of the “Past The Lights” video, “This song screams to be a performance video and we just couldn’t deny breaking out of our comfort zone by doing one. Maybe we aren’t the typical modern metal band playing a million notes or going beyond 200+ bpm, but we’ll be happy to take the Lemmy template… We’ll play loud and we’ll play rock ‘n’ roll.”

Decibel states “Past The Lights” itself, “combines the harshness of black metal with ethereal melodies and clean singing to dramatic effect. The song-and the whole album-thrive because of CHROME WAVES‘ ability to balance those disparate worlds.”

A Grief Observed will be released on Disorder Recordings on LP, CD, and digital formats on March 1st. Find digital and CD preorders where “Burdened” and “Predatory Animals” are streaming HERE.

Watch for vinyl preorders to post alongside new audio and video previews of the album in the coming days.

Following his departure from Wolvhammer and Abigail Williams in 2018, Jeff Wilson set out to finally make CHROME WAVES a full-time endeavor and brought in new guitarist/vocalist James Benson (Amiensus) alongside the returning Bob Fouts on drums. With a renewed sense of inspiration, the revamped lineup began recording immediately, with their sights set on completing their long-awaited debut full-length, A Grief Observed. In October, the trio issued the first new CHROME WAVES track in six years with “Burdened,” the first single from the impending LP. Several weeks later, the outfit released a non-album cover of Slowdive’s “When The Sun Hits” while continuing to wrap-up production on A Grief Observed.
