“Seasons,” which the band premiered at their recent Worcester performance, takes fans behind-the-scenes into the recording for Gold & Grey, featuring pre-production footage from the singer/guitar player John Baizley’s Philadelphia basement studio. The bulk of the album was recorded at producer Dave Fridmann’s (The Flaming Lips, Mogwai) upstate New York Tarbox Road Studio.

“The term I kept using was that I wanted to create something that was more kaleidoscopicthan our former records,” says Baizley of the band’s approach to the new album. “We were trying to say something new with our instruments, with our sound intact, with the spirit of the band intact, but not applying the typical conventions when possible.”

Baroness, who are in the final few days of their current co-headlining run with Deafheaven, have also announced a five week U.S. “Grey & Gold Tour,” kicking off on July 11. All dates here yourbaroness.com/tour.

Album pre-orders are available here smarturl.it/baroness-goldandgrey including instant downloads of both “Borderlines”  and “Seasons.”

Baroness is John Baizley (vocals/guitar), Gina Gleason (guitar), Nick Jost (bass) and Sebastian Thomson (drums).  Baroness received a GRAMMY® Award nomination for the song “Shock Me”(from the 2015 album, Purple) in the “Best Metal Performance” category. The band’s catalog of studio recordings is: Gold & Grey (2019), Purple (2015), Yellow & Green (2012), Blue Record (2009), Red Album (2007), A Grey Sigh in a Flower Husk (Split LP, 2007), Second (EP, 2004) and First (EP, 2004).
