IDLE HANDS Premieres Goth Rock Opus “Dragon, Why Do You Cry” via Heavy Consequence

Band on ‘Mana’ European tour during April/May/June + will perform at Psycho Las Vegas USA Pre-Party on August 15

Portland heavy metal/goth act IDLE HANDS has released their new single “Dragon, Why Do You Cry” in conjunction with Heavy Consequence’s new column Mining Metal. The band’s debut album, Mana, will be released May 10 via Eisenwald.

Heavy Consequence writer Joseph Schafer says that while the band plays
“traditional heavy metal to a certain extent,” IDLE HANDS vocalist and guitarist Gabriel Franco “sounds more like Robert Smith than he does Bruce Dickenson, even though one can hear The Cure and Iron Maiden both in his band’s sound…”

Entering the studio only four months after the release of Don’t Waste Your Time, the heavy upstarts quickly went to work crafting their first full-length record. Mana
conjures an emotive 40-minute ride into the realms of heavy metal, new wave and goth rock, while continuing to solidify the band’s unique brand of heavy music.

The album was recorded by Gabe Johnston and Zack Ohren (Machine Head), mixed by Johnston and Gabriel Franco, and mastered by the illustrious Brad Boatright (Yob, Corrosion of Conformity).

Pre-order Mana in various formats:

Featuring several former members of Spellcaster, IDLE HANDS made waves last year with the release of their critically-acclaimed debut EP Don’t Waste Your Time, which  Banger TV and German Deaf Forever Magazine called “the best debut EP of 2018.” Formed deep in the heart of the Pacific Northwest in 2017, the band initially began as a sole creative outlet for former Spellcaster bassist Gabriel Franco, who now handles vocals and rhythm guitar.

IDLE HANDS embark on the ‘Mana’ European Tour starting late April up and until June 1st ,including performances at Keep It True, Metal Force Attack Open Air, Metalheadz Open Air and Muskelrock in Sweden and join club shows with Midnight, Jag Panzer, and Electric Ciztizen. Additionally, the band was announced to perform at Psycho Swim, the official Psycho Las Vegas pre-party, on August 15 at the Daylight Beach Club with Corrosion of Conformity, Lucifer, ASG, Primitive Man and more.
