The echoes of this year’s edition of festival are still lingering under the ruins of the Revište castle but of course, the next year’s Gothoom is already in preparation. Festival with start its second decade on the same spot in Revištské Podzámčie between 23rdand 25th June 2020. The aim of the event remains unchanged; to bring the best of the world’s and domestic (mainly extreme) metal bands. The line-up building of the next Gothoom festival starts with these seven names:
MALEVOLENT CREATION are on the crusade lead by Phil Fasciana since 1987 and they have rightly gain the status of a legend. With a renewed line-up, the Floridians are keeping that accolade also on this year’s new album “The 13th Beast” after the sad and untimely death of their long-time singer Brett Hoffman. Uncompromising death metal from beginning to the end.
German thrash-deathers from PROTECTOR will be the next band with a legendary status on Gothoom. 33(!) years since they started the band, they released a new album with the moniker “Summon the Hordes”. Similarly to their American colleagues the rule is: Don’t look for any twist and turns, just pure destruction.
From a younger generation of bands, we will welcome Swiss indescribable duo BÖLZER. Their dirty death black with weird chords and melodies clothed in a very raw and visceral production already sounded on Gothoom once and it sounded perfectly. There is no reason for it to be any different this time around.
The fans of more melodic stuff will also find their beloved style of extreme metal on Gothoom. The first doom representative for this year are none other than Swedish masters from DRACONIAN. Their melodic doom decorated with vocals of Heike Langhans will once again create that magical atmosphere we know from the late nights on our festival.
The Polish death-black branch will be represented by Inferno’s AZARATH. They will definitely not treat anyone softly and they will deliver their dose of ungodliness, blasting parts, twisted riffs without forgetting about the demonic atmosphere and rawness.
Atmosphere is something that is not missing from the esoteric black-death-doom of THE RUINS OF BEVERAST, one-man band of Alexander von Meilenwald, for live purposes of course enriched by the guest musicians.
The first set of bands will be finalized by a new project that came into existence on an axis between Malta and Netherlands. PILGRIMAGE will bring death doom without compromises with members of Weeping Silence or Stream of Passion.
