MALOKARPATAN reveal first track from forthcoming INVICTUS / AJNA album

Slovakian metal monks Malokarpatan reveal the new song “Filipojakubská noc na Štangarígelských skalách.” The track is the first to be revealed from the band’s highly anticipated third album, Krupinské ohne (The Fires of Krupina), which will be released on March 20th, 2020 on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats via Invictus Productions once again in conjunction with their US allies at The Ajna Offensive. Hear Malokarpatan‘s “Filipojakubská noc na Štangarígelských skalách” in its entirety HERE at Invictus‘ Soundcloud.

Malokarpatan guitarist Adam says of the new track, “Despite its eight-minute length, this is in fact one of the shorter songs on the album. We’ve chosen to publish it as we were already playing it live during our late autumn gigs. It has a bit of a hymnic feeling, as within the storyline of the album concept, it describes a dreamlike flashback of one of the Krupina witches, back to a Walpurgis Night when she was received into the clandestine cult and swore an oath to forces beyond this world. This happens at the Štangarígel Rocks, which is a place depicted on the album cover, where we also took band pictures.”

The band will be performing a release show with Cult of Fire on March 21st in Prague. In conjunction with the international release of Krupinské ohne, vinyl reissues of both Stridzie Dni and Nordkarpatenland will also be available. The recently revealed cover art for Malokarpatan‘s Krupinské ohne (The Fires of Krupina) is as follows:

The artwork for Krupinské ohne (The Fires of Krupina) was created by Matúš S. Ďurčík, AKA Svjatogor, a graphic designer and artist from Slovakia who was chosen to represent the historical themes throughout the new album. Says Adam of the artist and artwork, “I wanted to work with Svjatogor already when having the album concept set, as his personal style works wonderfully with the historical topic of the record and gives it a feeling of an old book rediscovered after gathering dust somewhere within lost archives. He perfectly understood the tension between the dreamy idyll of a pastoral world and the sinister, nightside elements of folklore that always lies at the heart of our work.” Svatogor’s artwork can be viewed HERE as well as HERE.
