Toronto, ON/NYC brutal deathcore act BRAND OF SACRIFICE have premiered a live music video for their song “Charlotte” today at Metalsucks. The clip was filmed at the Montreal stop of their hugely successful tour with Shadow of Intent and showcases the band’s unparalleled live energy and command of the crowd.
“Charlotte” is from the group’s widely acclaimed new album God Hand, on which Exclaim! commented in a 9/10 review “Deathcore fans who missed out on Brand of Sacrifice’s first round better get on board this time. God Hand is absolutely top-tier and deserves every bit of attention it’s getting.” The album has seen BRAND OF SACRIFICE experience a meteoric rise in the global deathcore scene and has firmly established them as one of the most promising bands in the genre.
Vocalist Kyle Anderson said, “Charlotte’ is one of my personal favorite vocal performances on God Hand. It’s one of our more traditionally structured songs, resembling metal titans such as Lamb of God or In Flames in its overall form, but I still think our most brutal elements shine through—perhaps even more so. The rise and fall of a traditional song structure actually lends itself to the ups and downs faced by the song’s main subject, Charlotte from the manga Berserk. Her relationship with (and dedication to) antagonist Griffith is hard to stomach, as he leaves her and mortality behind. There’s an irony in the fact that the devotion is all too human, while he is anything but, which made this a compelling story to tell.
This video was shot at a sold-out show at Montreal’s Théâtre Fairmount on our tour with Shadow of Intent, Inferi and Signs of the Swarm. The energy was insane in the room that day, so we knew we had to film it.

This week BRAND OF SACRIFICE will embark on their first European tour alongside Rings of Saturn, Enterprise Earth, and Traitors. The trek will run from February 21st to March 13th and see the band annihilating stages across much of Western and Central Europe as well as the UK.
