After months of mounting anticipation and mass critical praise, Georgia bred metal powerhouse IRIST has released their debut album, “Order of the Mind,” today via Nuclear Blast. It’s now available for purchase and stream at nuclearblast.com/irist-ootm.
Without warning, IRIST exploded on the scene in January with the massive single “Burning Sage,” which was lauded by Kerrang as having, “the throttle and swing of GOJIRA, the thoughtful bludgeoning of MESHUGGAH, the arcane sneer of HIGH ON FIRE,” and Revolver stating, “It’s post-metal without the drawn-out pretense, it’s hardcore without the corny bro-speak, and it worships at the foot of doom without the exhaustive passages that wear on the ear.”
Since that moment, IRIST has experienced monumental breakout success, fueled by crushing singles like ‘Severed‘ and ‘Creation.’ Now, with the arrival of “Order of the Mind” fans can witness firsthand the urgency and intensity of the album as a whole, as intended.
It’s been a long and winding road to the release of the new album, upon reflection guitarist Pablo Davila states, “Writing “Order of the Mind” has taken the five of us on an incredible journey. A lot has happened leading up to the release of this album, both in our own lives and in the world at large. We genuinely hope that this collection of songs bring a positive light or some form of meaning to those willing to listen, as it surely has for us.”
Yesterday, the band revealed the first video in a new series called “Making of Order of the Mind,” which gives an inside scoop on how the record came together. Watch the first installment here: https://youtu.be/R3bPrpMrh74
