SEVENTH’s new album ‘Vacarme’

Who are Seventh?

Seventh is an independent atmospheric/post black metal band from Quebec City, Canada. While the formation is still pretty young, starting in 2016, these canadians have already managed to put out two full lengths: Limbes barely a year after being born, and now, Vacarme. Their high quality craft, musical expertise, attention to detail and intimate knowledge of the genre has already netted them tens of thousands of plays on platforms like YouTube, being promoted by the biggest Black Metal YouTube channel there is.

Seventh is formed by:
– Vocals: Jean-Fred Gauvin
– Guitar: Olivier Falardeau
– Bass: Martin Lessard
– Drums: Alex “Blaireau” Bernatchez.

“VACARME”

Seventh released their new album entitled ”Vacarne” earlier this month. It was recorded at La Boîte Noire studio in Quebec city, Canada with François C. Fortin.

In terms of central lyrics and ideas for ”Vacarme”, the album explores psychological distress, mental disorder (song like Echoes) and how some individuals will benefit from committing immoral acts to escape reality. Some people will try to find remedies by drowning themselves in lust to forget and remain vulnerable forever instead of solving their problems. Lust touches that subject. Disheartened is about determination and redemption, while The Gift of Death is about human sacrifices to fuel religious incarnations.

The album’s artwork, created by Philippe D’Amours, link all the songs together to represent escapism and abandonment for a better realm. We see someone letting go of their own aureola, representing the dispossession of belongings and humanity for a better world.

The album is out now on all streaming platforms and CD digipack. Pre-order for the vinyl release is also available now on their BandCamp.
