Today, Swedish old-school death metal Lovecraft-worshipers PUTERAEON release a video for the song “The Sleeping Dread”. “The Sleeping Dread” marks Puteraeon return with a new song, foreshowing great – and dark- things for their new album, to be released later this year.
“First pulse. This is the path of fear. This song was the foundation and one of the first songs written of the “The Cthulhian Pulse: Call From The Dead City”, drawing a clear line of what we wanted to do. In many ways, “The Sleeping Dread” is the backbone, the spinal cord of the Cthulhian beast” guitarist and singer Jonas Lindblood explains.
To put it plain and simple, Puteraeon is one of the best old-school death metal bands from Sweden nowadays. And we’re talking Sweden, home of bands such as Nihilist, Grave or Dismember. Puteraeon carries the tradition of all things obscure and, on album No. 4, delve (even) deeper into H.P. Lovecraft dark world and emerge with “The Cthulhian Pulse: Call From The Dead City”, a collection of ten tracks which are easily the most mature the band have done so far. Mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö, who has the following to say about the album: “One of the better Death Metal albums I have ever mixed. I just love the mysterious and more adventurous musical arrangements, yet keeping the raw and brutal HM2 SweDeath vibe intact as a backbone. Excellent musicianship all over and easily their best release so far!”.
“The Cthulhian Pulse” oozes with darkness, but bring also out a more melodic side to Puteraeon, making it one of the death metal candidates for album of the year. It will be released in digital, CD and vinyl formats by Emanzipation Productions on November, Friday 13th 🙂
