Melodic riff lords Evocatus are today proud to announce their second album Path To Tartarus, set to drop on Friday, October 30th.
Fans will hear the first taste of their new material with album lead single Warriors Of The Sea arriving in the world next Friday, September 11th.
Taking inspiration from genre giants Kreator, Amon Amarth and Arch Enemy, Evocatus have skillfully honed their songwriting over their first decade of existence, combining passages of beauty and colour with crushing death metal slams.
Says the band about the new release, “Path to Tartarus is a melodic death metal collection of stories about ancient gods, bloody battles and a look into the mind of battle-hardened warriors. An epic crescendo to the final destination of Tartarus.
“The album consists of hectic riffs, blistering solos and crushing vocals whilst allowing for melodic harmonies and symphonic layers and interludes creating an immersive and rich atmosphere. A ten-song, sixty-three-minute journey that will leave you wanting more!”
Having shared the stage with the likes of Kalmah, Psycroptic and Cattle Decapitation (among others) Evocatus are yet another example of the explosion of quality melodic death metal roaring out from down under.
In Greek mythology, Tartarus is the deep abyss that is used as a dungeon of torment and suffering for the wicked and as the prison for the Titans.
You can be sure that this album is the soundtrack to that place.
