Son Of A Shotgun started in 2015 in Kristiansand, Norway, as a one-man-band. It was formed by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ivan “Meathook” Gujic – guitar player of biggest and the meanest Norwegian Death Metal band Blood Red Throne.
The debut album “Mexican Standoff” was released in 2017, featuring Jan Axel “Hellhammer” Blomberg (Mayhem, Acturus), Kjell “Damage” Karlsen (Chrome Division, ex- Breed) and Maurice Adams (Horizon Ablaze, Motorfinger, ex- Breed). After the release, Meathook kicked off a Norwegian tour, covering all the biggest cities in Norway and headlining the Southern Discomfort Metal Festival.
Signing to Alpha Omega Management gave opportunity to play with Cannibal Corpse, and make a documentary of it. Meathook has also made some music videos for SOAS.
In 2019, 3-way split-album “Sons Of Red Visions” was released.

The debut gig in new line-up happened in Oslo 2019, with a mind-blowing appearance – fully uniformed and war-painted – military precision gig.
New EP, “Be For Oss Alle”, was recorded at Meathook Studios in the beginning of 2020. It was mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson of Cryptopsy, and planned to be released the same year.
“Our style is call`d Southern Death/Grind – I believe that we are the first band in the world to create this style. We are always bettering ourselves and it was always my goal to make music, that`s different from the other bands.
The speed, the Souther heavy Blues and the Jackhammer guitar sound is our trademark. Not only our music, but our image stands out. Inspired by the Mexican cartels and native American tribes, we are uniformed and war-painted.
As a music/noise composure and mastermind of SOAS, I write music from my soul. I`ve been through a lot of fucked up shit in my life. I was in the Bosnian civil war before I came to Norway, as a refugee.
