THE ODIOUS – Progressive Death Metal/Prog-Rock Unit Premiere Alice In Chains – “Sickman” Death Metallized Cover At The Circle Pit. New EP Out 2021

Portland, Oregon-based progressive death metal/progressive rock faction The Odious is hard at work on the follow up to their critically acclaimed 2019 second full-length album, Vesica Piscis. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, their strategic plan to quickly drop a new EP just one year after the release of Vesica Piscis came to a screeching halt.

While work continues on what is now planned to be a 2021 release for their next EP, the group found time to record an incredible “death metallized” cover of Alice In Chains – “Sickman”. The cover will be available soon on both Spotify and The Odious Bandcamp Page.

The band partnered with The Circle Pit this week to premiere their cover of “Sickman”

The Odious comments:
“Since we can remember, Grunge music has held an extremely special place in our hearts. We used to relish the idea that a movement that impactful could be born in a place like the Pacific Northwest in the early 90s. It became something so potent, so raw, that it couldn’t possibly be ignored by the world. Over the years these bands have truly proven to be amongst our most crucial inspirations, and none more so than the great Alice In Chains. We are ecstatic to announce the release of our very first cover, “Sickman,” from their magnum opus, Dirt. We really wanted to make something to honor the legacy of our idols, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to finally see it through for you guys. We love you.”
