Brutal Mind Store:

“Straight out of the gate, Buried are showing they can stand on their own 2 feet with this brilliant release. Buried are death metal at its purest.”
– Rock N’ Load

“Think of the wildest flurries of death metal you can, then multiply it by 10. That’s what Buried have to offer here. That they’re so damn good at it.”
– Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“A talented band and a skull cracker.”
– Angry Metal Guy

“The coming of Buried into the Death Metal scene is an excellent thing. Oculus Rot is a perfect transition between Old School Death Metal, Brutal Death and modern sonorities.”
– Acta Infernalis

“Unabashedly brutal but never mindless, Oculus Rot is a memorable introduction to a band that isn’t going to simply ride the coattails of Pyaemia to garner success. A combination of old school brutality and more modern nuance that hits just the right sweet spots.”
– Dead Rhetoric

“Buried do not take prisoners. The songs on Oculus Rot blow the bun out of the hairstyle of every hipster.”
– Soundmagnet

“Ultra-groovy and relatively technical brutal death metal with slam influences. Think of a far groovier blend of Suffocation and early Decapitated, but with glory day Cannibal Corpse era Chris Barnes style vocals. If you like death metal you need to listen to this album.”
– Cave Dweller Music

“Beastly and technical. This whole album is fucking violent!”
– Dargedik Rock Metal Webzine

“Oculus Rot shakes off the cobwebs of Pyaemia’s best feature, its unceasing propulsion, and grafts it onto a newer, streamlined sound. Yes, hiding beneath the brutality is an unexpected amount of rock.”
– Stereogum

“If you are into bands like Decapitated, Revocation and Suffocation, you should definitely go for Oculus Rot. Buried offer a good mix of old school death metal and brutal death metal and add a modern sound framework to this mix.”
– Time for Metal

BURIED released the following statement concerning the band’s style and the debut album:

“You may remember the brutal vocals of Joel Sta and the insane drumming of Robbe V, as they were part of the brutal death metal band PYAEMIA. Now they’re up for something new: together with Worm on bass – who also played in PYAEMIA – they have teamed up with Steve on guitars who adds a lot of groove in his songwriting.”

“Bands like Suffocation, Revocation and Decapitated are big influences on our sound, and even Pantera comes to mind. We like it heavy, sometimes with odd time signatures and at the same time we want the audience to bang their heads,” says Steve. “The lyrical theme is about all dark things we call upon ourselves,” Joel adds. “Nothing new on that part, just brutal stuff!”

Soon after the recording of their debut album, Oculus RotBURIED signed a deal with Brutal Mind. Now get ready for some sick Death Metal from The Netherlands!
