Las Vegas metalcore veterans DISTINGUISHER have released a music video for their highly anticipated new single “Nothing is Real”. The group premiered the track at Knotfest.com who commented, “Distinguisher’s bludgeoning approach to metalcore, inflected with electronics and nu metal, has set them as potential players in their Las Vegas hometown since their debut release ‘What’s Left of Us’ in 2017, but returning now with new single ‘Nothing is Real’ seems like their sound has never been more ready to break.“
Raw, punishing and unforgiving, “Nothing is Real” is about being at war with the worst parts of yourself. DISTINGUISHER takes listeners on a journey of discovery that shows what the mind is capable of and that it’s enough to make anyone question reality. An onslaught of Nu-Metal influenced groove, crushing breakdowns, and unhinged vocals, the relentless track violently explodes from the speakers and solidifies the group’s quest to dominate the world of heavy music.
The band said of the track, “Nothing is Real’ is about the battle between the naysaying voice inside your head, and the desire to feel something other than a perpetual state of panic and anxiety, which is exposed throughout the song, giving the listener an all encompassing idea of this gruelling duality.“
“Nothing Is Real” comes as a follow up to DISTINGUISHER’s well received sophomore album Hell from Here, and continues the band’s conversation about topics that are painful, yet inevitable.
DISTINGUISHER solidified their place in the Las Vegas music scene almost immediately after their emergence in 2014. Influences ranging from Slipknot, to Architects, and everything in between, lent a hand in shaping the bands’ unique brand of nu-metalcore. After amassing a local and regional following, the band began working towards their debut release “What’s Left Of Us” most often referred to as “WLOU.” The record quickly caught the attention of the underground metal community, and the band wasted no time covering all grounds. Touring consistently quickly led to new opportunities, including South By So What?! in 2017, a main stage spot on New England Metal & Hardcore festival in 2018, followed by a record deal with Modern Empire (formerly Stay Sick Recordings) in early 2019. The band held nothing back when it came time to follow up their first record; their crushing sophomore effort titled “Hell from Here” was released in July of 2019 and found its way to Billboard charts for the first time, charting #17 Top New Artist, as well as #19 Hard Rock Artist.
