‘Reliquished’ introduces itself with a somber piano melody and Jordan Von Grae’s melancholic vocals intertwined around a warm synth & moody drums. The guitars kick in with a pensive riff underpinned by double-timed drum and bass grooves, propelling this journey-eqsue composition towards an anthemic chorus. The crescendo heralds an impeccable contrast to the rest of the track with a methodically curated guitar solo undulating between sweep-picked and open note melodies, soaring orchestral layers, and Von Grae’s versatile and catchy vocals sitting atop pounding drums and thumping bass, reminiscent of artists such as HIM.
Frontman Jordan Von Grae explains ‘We’re incredibly excited to be releasing this fourth and final single. ‘Relinquished’ is definitely one of our favourite tracks on the record, and it holds a firm weight in closing the underlying narrative woven into the previous 3 singles. Lyrically, the song draws from the notion of acceptance in despair, and in doing so explores the sense of finding a semblance of peace in relinquishing hope. Despite being one of the darker songs on the album, its fundamental theme lies in the idea of achieving tranquillity.’
