Italian post-hardcore act IF I DIE TODAY is back with a new single called “Places”. Despondency, sadness, anger and hope are all sensations contained in “Places”. Everything in this new song by If I Die Today tells of a lacerating, devastating, raw and sudden loss, a perfect introduction to the new album “The Abyss In Silence” which will be released between Fall/Winter. “Closing your eyes and listening to the song thoroughly, you find yourself immersed in the dark pitch of suffering” says their frontman Marco Fresia “The thin instrumental line, almost acoustic, dominated by deep lacerating screams which, like a mantra, try to exorcise the deep gash in the listener’s soul. The final, almost cinematic restart, when everything seems over and defeat now seems the only solution, rekindles the hope of an eternal peace away from suffering and all the darkness that has been crossed so far. “Places” is a cry for help, a “May Day” of those who find themselves, at the last minute, on the edge of the precipice of horror and of the innermost fear of eternal loneliness”.

If I Die Today is an Italian post hardcore band from the North of Italy, formed in 2007. Their musical style is rooted in hardcore punk with metal and rock’n’roll elements. They released three full lengths (If I Die Today // Liars // Cursed) and two EPs (You are alone // Postcards From The Abyss). If I Die Today toured all along Europe and Russia, they have also garnered critical and fan acclaim for their high energy, intense live shows. After a little stop they came back in studio to record their third full lenght album called “Cursed”, that will come out with Sliptrick Records. With Cursed the band evolved into new sounds in which hardcore, punk, metal, rock’n’roll and stoner are mixed together to create something never heard before and new for the underground scene. Cursed is a great change also for the band himself that, thanks to a reached musical maturity, is finally showing the real If I Die Today face. Direction towards darker and more aggressive sound is confirmed in the last 2021 LP The Abyss In Silence which will be released soon, another concept album exploring the different phases of grief and loss; epic guitar riffing supported by tight and intense rhythmic section are the ground for the powerful vocal scream which will for sure please the fan of Cursed.
