Californian blackened metal band, WOLF KING are today premiering a full live set via Decibel Magazine. Recorded and filmed at Rapture Recordings in Hayward, California – the live set showcases material from the quartet’s second album, The Path of Wrath, released via Prosthetic Records in March 2021. The performance is just a taste of what’s to come ahead of WOLF KING‘s US tour this November, alongside Skeletal Remains and Teeth (more info and dates below).

Speaking on the performance, the band comment: “The set list we created for this live performance at Rapture Recordings studio is meant to convey what a real, in-person Wolf King set would feel like. We recorded this performance in the same location that we recorded the majority of our The Path of Wrath album, in an attempt to capture the feeling and sound of the record while still maintaining the intimate and ruthless atmosphere of a live Wolf King show. We hope you enjoy it and we can’t wait to safely join you on the road again soon. Thank you and take care of yourselves!”

Released in March of this year, WOLF KING‘s The Path of Wrath was recorded at both Prairie Sun Recordings and Rapture Recordings in California by Cody Fuentes, with mixing and mastering handled by Jack Shirley at The Atomic Garden. WOLF KING‘s blackened metal sound is captured at it’s most captivatingly unrestrained on their sophomore full length – for an uncompromising, filth-drenched, smoke-infused take on the genre, The Path of Wrath delivers the goods and then some.

Praise for The Path of Wrath:

“When WOLF KING go full-on and tear through a song like fire tears through a Norwegian church, it hits just like you want; but when they slow it down and the hooks come out, it’s clear they’ve upped their riff game considerably.” – Decibel (March 2021 issue)

“Metal, at its best, is a bunch of frustrated people screaming and partying together as we all march toward the abyss. WOLF KING totally embodies that on what may go down as one of—if not the —best metal record of 2021.” – New Noise

The Path of Wrath is a record of black metal atmosphere and darkness coupled with a hardcore energy. It sounds like the soundtrack to a level in hell.” – Metal Injection

“A vicious combination of crust, hardcore, doom, death, and black metal, The Path of Wrath is not a happy experience, but certainly one you’ll remember.” – Ghost Cult
