Swedish Folk Metal band Lombolo releases their new EP “Ofärd”. “Ofärd” collects four previous singles as well as the previously unreleased title track.
The title track is a 6-minute epic featuring a flute and mandolin combo from Valhalla, big singalong choruses mixed with death growls over heavy riffs. The lyrics tell the story of a Swedish warrior who serves as a mercenary for the queen of France in the 7th century CE and is based on the novel of the same name by Swedish historian Dick Harrison. The EP is a diverse effort and contains the more melancholic “Irminsûl”, the Spaghetti Western-themed “Skuggan Från Prärien” and the catchy, folky party tracks “Britannia” and “Väringagardet”.
The art features a stylized map of France, made by the band’s flautist Lennart and guitarist Walerius. A music video for “Ofärd” will be published on YouTube in November.
