KERBEROS – first single of new album “Of Mayhem And Dismay” released

Burning Flesh” is the first single from Kerberos‘ debut album “Of Mayhem and Dismay” and is accompanied by a music video filmed and edited by Ayan Paska. Filmed in a former industrial hall, the video is an experimental take on a setting with traditional “metal aesthetics” combined with layers of intense hand held shots. Instead of going from scene to scene, the video layers multiple camera angles over one steady shot of the full band performing the song. The resulting assemblage of images provides an unusual yet fascinating experience somewhere between a regular music video and an up close live performance.

KERBEROS is a symphonic death metal band from Winterthur, Switzerland, founded in 2013 by singer and guitarist Félicien Burkard and original bass player Rouven Neukomm. The first years were spent developing the music and finding the right people to play it. With the joining of drummer Nicolas Käser in 2014 and vocalist Ai-lan Metzger in 2018, the first stable line-up was established. Soon after, the band began recording their demo “The Awakening of the Hellhound”, which was released digitally in 2020 and on CD in 2021.

In early 2021, KERBEROS started recording their debut full-length “Of Mayhem and Dismay” at Iguana Studios near Freiburg, Germany. During the recording process, Rouven Neukomm left the band and Félicien took over the role of bass player for the album. It was mixed and mastered by Christoph Brandes at Iguana Studios Germany. While melodic death metal influences were still present on the demo, the music on the debut album mostly features more extreme variants of death metal and shows the more progressive side of the band. “Of Mayhem and Dismay” will be released on CD and digitally on September 16th, 2022.
