“This song is about the Crusades and how one man – believing he was fighting for god and glory against an evil force and heathen – realizes that the coin is the same on the other side, and those he opposes are just the same as he is in their delusion how they’re both are being manipulated for the gain and power of others. This obviously can be applied to anything from politics, to working for a supposed just ’cause to just being part of a machine and being controlled. In the end you only have one life and die alone.”
