Extol-inspired prog-death spliced with Death melodies and Suffocation brutality accompanied by Opeth and Cynic influences coursing through its veins. Passion of Depression flourishes thanks to its eclectic genre-hopping nature and extensive roster of both killer core musicians and high-profile guest musicians bringing their own styles into the release.”

– Metal Injection

“There’s a clever complexity to this record that disguises its straightforward core: a passionate journey through the trials of life.”

– Invisible Oranges

“A perfect balance of progressive, melodic and extreme.

Highly recommended.” (9/10)

– Metallerium

“Passion of Depression is one of those killer releases that you enjoy even more the more you listen to it.” (94/100)

– Infernal Masquerade

“Diverse, melancholic prog death. A rich platter of pleasures.”

– Toilet ov Hell

“A sprawl of epic, occasionally symphonic tech-death that packs nearly an hour of music into seven songs and features guest musicians galore.”

– Metal-Rules

LAMENTATIONS are back with their second full-length, following 2016 debut album, Echoes in the Wind. Frontman Danny “Jungle” Jacob is now working with members from the sister band Monotheist: Chris Stropoli (Drums), Prophet (Guitar); and Jose Figueroa (Bass).

Passion Of Depression is a cinematic concept album that portrays the pain, pleasure, joy and sorrow that encompass one’s life journey. Razor sharp, methodical riffs drive complex, serpentine compositions supported by a myriad of keyboards, and other classical instrumentation. The music on the album is supported by various guest musicians, who add a sense of mysticism to an already otherworldly journey, including guitarists Jason Gobel (ex-Cynic), Santiago Dobles (ex-Cynic), Ole Borud (Extol), Ethan Mckenna (Black Crown Initiate), Max Phelps (ex-CynicExist), which are sure to elevate the album’s already multi-layered, grandiose and emotional sound even further.
