German heavy metal warhorses, NECK CEMETERY, announce a line-up change on guitar. Yorck Segatz (SODOM) will leave the band due to time constraints. The new man on the six string axe will be Jörn Reese.
It is with the greatest regret that I must resign from Neck Cemetery. As you probably noticed, I was only able to play one concert last year due to too many overlapping dates. Since this situation will continue in 2023, I had to make this difficult decision in order not to stand in the way of my brothers. I am all the more pleased that they already found a successor in Jörn.
A big thank you also goes to Andi, who has represented me very well at all the shows across the metal republic in the last few months.
Last but not least I would like to thank all the bangers in front of the stage (headless or not…), the supporters behind the scenes and of course the guys from Reaper Entertainment. Without you we would be nothing!
I wish the Neck continued success – may our axes cross one another in the future!”
The band adds:
„With Yorck we share more than “just” the common path in this band, which unfortunately comes to an end at this point – we are friends and metal brothers, nothing and nobody can take that away from us. It was Yorck who, together with Boris, had the idea for Neck Cemetery, and it was Yorck that introduced Matt and Jens to everybody. For that, we thank him from the bottom of our hearts. We are mighty proud of his continued success with Sodom and wish him all the best for the future! We’ll see each other again, on stage – and in front of it.
As is so often the case, where one door closes, another opens. Our new man at the six-stringed axe is called Jörn Reese. Jens and Jörn are old buddies who have known each other for over 20 years. We look forward to presenting you our new ax swinger live on stage on December 12th in Düsseldorf – and to all the things that the future will bring!”
New guitarist Jörn adds:
“Jens and I have known each other for ages – and always wanted to do play some music together. I’m very happy that this is working out with Neck Cemetery, because this kind of music is just in my blood. And it also harmonized well with the boys right away. I’m really looking forward to getting started live – and entering the studio next year.”
Together with the new man, NECK CEMETERY will soon visit the Gernhart Studio in Troisdorf to record their new studio album “Bring us the Head…” together with producer Martin Buchwalter, which is scheduled for release in October 2023 via Reaper Entertainment.
