Manic frontman and co-architect Joseph Izayea comments: “I’m stoked to announce FROM UNDER CONCRETE KINGS’ release of our reimagining of “Running Up That Hill” by Kate Bush. It’s the first ever full production cover like this I’ve ever done,  and we had a hell of a time finding the balance between making it heavy AF  while honoring the innate qualities that make the original such a low-key banger. With such a tumultuous year behind us coming to close, and the next installment of FROM UNDER CONCRETE KINGS fast approaching completion, I’m superbly grateful to end the old year by kicking off 2023 with something different. We hope you enjoy our trip into the upside-down! Go Broons!”

More about FROM UNDER CONCRETE KINGS:

FROM UNDER CONCRETE KINGS are a high powered deathcore three piece who trade in crushing riffs, massive breakdowns and a potent songwriting sensibility. Their sound pulls from the influence of modern masters like BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME as well as old gods like JAMES BROWN. Their refined execution and thoughtful songwriting has rapidly garnered the attention of deep diving heavy music listeners with their videos accumulating over one million plays on YouTube!

The band formed out of the ashes of many previous collaborations between bassist Josh Previte and lead singer Joseph Izayea. They recorded their first EP together and started to find some traction online. However it was the addition of drummer Freddy Velasco after his touring with GREAT AMERICAN GHOST that the band started to reach a whole new level. Together they recorded their sophomore EP, Modus Exodus which the band released on February 14th 2020. This record proved to be a huge step forward for these deathcore freaks, capitalizing on their preternatural talents and penchant for counterbalancing huge guitars with potent vocals.

The band is already completing work on their 3rd EP release slated for 2023 as well as making touring plans. FROM UNDER CONCRETE KINGS repeatedly exhibits deep planning and vision to ensure their potential to stand tall amongst their peers continues to grow. It’s rare to find a deathcore band just as influenced by THURSDAY and FOUR YEARS STRONG as they are ANIMALS AS LEADERS and ARCHSPIRE. With their unique vision and appetite for hard work, FROM UNDER CONCRETE KINGS seem destined to take on the world.

FROM UNDER CONCRETE KINGS is:

Joseph Izayea (vocals)
Josh Previte (bass)
Freddy Velasco (drums)
