Quickly following up on the debut single/video from the forthcoming highly anticipated new album from VINTERSEA, the Portland-based quintet return with “Unveiling Light.” The next song not only sates devoted fans but also bates them with the group’s penchant for harnessing progressive, melodic and blackened tendencies into a sweltering new track.

When we set out to write this album, we challenged ourselves to make the brutal music heavier, and the beautiful music more breathtaking,” shares guitarist Riley Nix. “What I didn’t know is that we would be doing both on the same song! ‘Unveiling Light’ highlights the extremes of what we do, and I think it is going to stick with people in a very primal way.

As has become customary for VINTERSEA the new single is complemented by a top-notch music video, directed once again by bassist Karl Whinnery. The new clip can be viewed HERE https://youtu.be/dmWX0Fm8ttE while the digital single is available on all streaming/download platforms

“’Unveiling Light’ kicks our new album off in proper fashion so we knew we wanted the video to match that vibe – chaotic, dissonant, and full of intense energy – but with splashes of beauty and depth,” tells Karl. “As far as our songs go, the song is pretty stripped down, so we wanted to match that with the video and keep it focused on performance. We took full advantage of the gnarly warehouse we filmed in, and had a blast with the Texas Chainsaw sliding door and Hellraiser chains!”

Unveiling Light” follows “At the Gloaming Void” https://youtu.be/y-ztBVt8xXg both giving evidence of new album’s combination of many genres into a melodic, progressive and oftentimes blackened brand of metal that is undeniably inspired by the majesty of the Pacific Northwest. The highly anticipated ‘Woven Into Ashes” is the third full offering from the Portland-based outfit, marking their first new music since their notable 2019 release, ‘Illuminated,’ an album that turned many heads and remains a favorite for fans and a consistent seller for the M-Theory label.

The forthcoming effort once again features cover art by Ne Obliviscaris’ singer Xenoyr and is engineered by Gabe Johnston (Unto Others, Silver Talon), while mixing was handled by the team of Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland (Rivers of Nihil, Lorna Shore, Black Crown Initiate) with mastering courtesy of Troy Glessner (Devin Townsend, Underoath, Moonsorrow). Pre-Order CD, limited edition 2LP colored vinyl (500 copies on gilded rain splatter) and Digital now at www.lnk.to/wovenintoashes

“We once again worked with Xenoyr, the vocalist and visionary of Ne Obliviscaris, to reflect the complex range of sounds, energy, and emotions found within Woven Into Ashes. As a whole, the artwork represents the journey of our character as they suffer, endure, and ultimately find a sense of peace. Specifically, there are several graphical nods to songs and motifs found throughout the album,” explains Riley “It is truly a pleasure to work with someone who enjoys the process of understanding our creative vision and then translating those themes into artwork.”

Scheduled for a May 5th CD and Digital release (with the vinyl coming later this summer) the album coordinates perfectly with the group’s tour that begins the same day with Portugal’s famed gothic metal band MOONSPELL, joined by Swedish symphonic metal act ELEINE and Texas’ Progressive OCEANS OF SLUMBER.

VINTERSEA create a unique fusion of majestic progressive metal with harsh blackened death and post-metal beauty which draws inspiration from the darkened skies of their Pacific Northwest home. Fronted by Malaysian-born singer Avienne, whose vocal range spans from haunting melodies to fierce growls, VINTERSEA delivers heavy, emotionally powerful and technically intriguing music that is undeniably inspired by the majesty of their surroundings. The group built an organic and devoted following through impeccable and illustrious music videos (with combined views of almost 3 million), social media outreach and tours with Dawn of Ouroboros, Graveshadow and Voices of Ruin, as well as playing regionally opening for Fleshgod Apocalypse, Obscura, Thulcandra, Wolfheart, Ne Obliviscaris, Jinger, The Ocean, Arkona and Sirenia. Now armed with a stellar new album, proper management and booking agent we are all excited to begin the next album campaign and relish in the growth and further appreciation for this noteworthy young band.
