BIOGRAPHY:
In late 2016, Mortalfall emerged from the shadows, born out of a shared passion for music that transcends time and genres. Initially gathering to weave their own renditions of beloved covers, this eclectic group of individuals embarked on a musical journey that would lead them to the creation of an original sound that is uniquely Mortalfall.
As they delved into their vast creative realm,, Mortalfall became a tight-knit collective, drawing inspiration from the wide spectrum of human emotions and the enigmatic, often dark corners of the mind. The early days were a sonic exploration, a quest to define their unique identity. With every rehearsal, with every note played, a path was becoming paved towards discovering the essence of Mortalfall. United by their shared love for music, the band evolved into a close-know collective, where each member brought a distinct flavor into the mix.
In 2020, Mortalfall unveiled their inaugural EP, “Point of Departure,” a bold sonic exploration that marked the beginning of their artistic expedition. A subsequent power single further solidified their presence in the musical realm, captivating audiences both online and at numerous live shows.
As Mortalfall continued to enthrall listeners with their live performances in a post-pandemic world, their sonic evolution, not surprisingly, took a darker turn. The forthcoming sophomore EP, “Cruelty of Fates,” is a testament to this progression – a crushing mammoth into the depths of human emotion and the untethered realms of the mind. Abysmal doom-laden riffs that breathe and writhe; soaring vocals that enchant and possess, and elaborate, memorable melodies that may drag into despair or wonder; these intensely crafted musical elements establish Mortalfall as genuine torchbearers of the Goth-symphonic metal genre in 2024.
At the core of Mortalfall’s sonic palette are the talented individuals who breathe life into their music:
- Anastasia Utoplova’s haunting vocals, a siren’s call that leads listeners into the abyss.
- Tristan Biggar’s bass, a rhythmic pulse that resonates through the marrow.
- Stephen Savo’s guitar, a conduit for the ethereal melodies that dance on the edge of despair.
- Eric Nelles’ drums, a relentless force driving the heartbeat of Mortalfall.
- Martin Drozd, master of keys and vocals, weaving layers of atmosphere that envelop the listener in a sonic embrace.
Mortalfall invites you to join them on this journey – a descent into the cruel tapestry of fate, where the pain of existence is laid bare, and only the brave shall endure. For when the mortal falls and nothing more remains, only then will you know the true pain of existence. The journey continues, and the darkness awaits.
