The long lost album ‘DE SYV DØDSSYNDER’ by Atmospheric black metal project SAKNA releases today. The album’s theme is loosely inspired by Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy and incorporates elements of both doom metal and folk. ‘DE SYV DØDSSYNDER,’ has been restored and remixed to completion, offering a glimpse into one of the most musically intricate and forgotten gems within the annals of black metal’s infamous history.

SAKNA was conceived in the mid 2000’s as a one-man project, the brainchild of Canadian musician Solemn.  The album, recorded 15 years ago, is the culmination of his life’s work; he took his own life in March 2011 after the writing and recording of the album was completed.

‘DE SYV DØDSSYNDER’s’ long form song structures feature music that is arcane and raw but methodical and layered. The songs capture the mysterious rituals of black metal while offering a varied musical journey consisting of doom, folk, clean instrumentation and even ambient textures.
