On May 31st, 2024, Rötual will self-release its first EP, Wörms. This 3-song release is presented as a rotten sample of things to come: it will feature the band’s first single ‘Worms,’ alongside two alternate versions of songs to be found on an upcoming full length album (later in 2024).

A lyric video has been released for the single ‘Worms.’ Sporting the deadly artwork of Headsplit Design, this video presents what Rötual is all about: mid-pace riffs, a 90’s death-doom feel, death metal vocals, and enough hooks to cut the meat off a corpse.

Formed in 2023, Rötual is a death-doom band from the graveyard of Canada’s National Capital Region. It features musicians from other metal entities such as Signs Of Chaos, Norilsk, Sons of the Nether (Misshapen), Whispers In The Maze, and Dead Culture Society.

Drums and vocals were recorded at Apartment 2; guitars and bass were recorded by Tom Hansen. The EP was produced, mixed, and mastered by Topon Das and Apt 2. The artwork was created by Headsplit Design.

Pre-orders will start in a few days.

Rötual will be playing at Le Petit Campus in Montreal on Saturday May 18th, alongside Ashbreather and Burning Sanctum. Event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/966628188237310
