GRIEVINGS – Louisiana Blackened Hardcore Trio Release New EP “Pyre” + New Video For “Damnation”

Louisiana blackened hardcore miscreants GRIEVINGS is enthralled to announce the release of their second EP, Pyre, out now independently.

Recorded by the band and mixed/mastered by Trevor Harrison, Pyre is approximately 12-and-a-half minutes of sludgy blackened hardcore straight from the Third Coast.

Formed out of necessity in 2023, the band quickly made a name for themselves in the Louisiana scene, performing with bands like CapraChristworm and a ton of heavy bands headquartered in Bayou Country.

The band’s first EP, The Endless, introduced the power trio’s chaotic and metallic sound, receiving praise from Metal Trenches, who called it a “grimey take on hardcore.”

Pyre builds from that aforementioned grime, charring the band’s compositions with rotting layers of blackened punk and giving listeners a preview of what’s to come.

“It’s sure to hit you on a primal level,” says guitarist/vocalist Rickey Lafleur.
