The Swiss brutal death metal band Consumed By Vultures is excited to announce the new edition of their album “Pseudobiblion” and the release of their new single “Scissione,” scheduled for September 2024.

Following the release of “Pseudobiblion,” the band decided to re-record two tracks from their 2014 demo, “Sky Burial” and “Natural Selection.” These pieces, which have been part of their live repertoire since the beginning, have been revisited to celebrate the group’s artistic journey. The upcoming releases will be seven singles, published every 3-4 months, starting with “Scissione” in September 2024.

In light of the new music releases scheduled for this year, Consumed By Vultures has decided to present a special setlist, including many tracks from the album that will be performed live for the first time. These concerts will offer fans a unique experience, allowing them to immerse themselves in the new sounds and deep themes explored in “Pseudobiblion.” The band is enthusiastic about sharing these new pieces live, providing unforgettable and engaging performances.

The band consists of seven members: six musicians and Gabriele Bavera, who serves as producer, graphic designer, technician, and director. Each member has conceived their own single, developed from their own idea and following their own directions. The common theme of these singles is intimate reflection on significant personal experiences that have contributed to each member’s individual growth. These moments have been artistically translated through music and metaphors, creating an emotional and personal journey for the listener.

The first single, “Scissione,” conceived by guitarist Timoteo Costantini, addresses the inner conflict and personal struggle against uncertainties and insecurities, expressing the resulting sense of emptiness and alienation.

With “Pseudobiblion,” Consumed By Vultures has continued their conceptual and musical journey that began with the album “In Eterno.” “Pseudobiblion” is a complex and ambitious work that explores deep and structured themes, inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy. This concept album tells the story of a higher entity that, during one of its infinite life cycles, decides to write a book, a “pseudobiblion,” to convey its vision and experiences.

Pseudobiblion” derives from the Greek ψευδής/ψευδές (false) and βιβλίον (book), and the concept is linked to an imaginary book cited as true in a literary work. This album continues the concept started with “In Eterno,” where an entity decides to write a book during one of its infinite life cycles, inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy. The album is divided into three sections, each containing three stories/themes that deal with dependency/selfishness, environment/ecology, and religion/castes.

The album consists of 10 cantos, structured as follows:

  • Cantica I: Descent into the Abyss (Inferno)
  • Cantica II: Purification (Purgatorio)
  • Cantica III: Lesson (Paradiso)

Each theme can be listened to in the natural order or according to a specific sequence that allows experiencing the entire theme from beginning to end.
