Melodic/Power Thrashers, Among These Ashes, in collaboration with Decibel Magazine, have premiered a lyric video for new single, “Faceless War Machines.” The song is taken from the band’s forthcoming new album (title and artwork will be announced at a later date). Check it out at the link below!
Among These Ashes have completed their sophomore album, which will be announced and released later this year. The lead single, “Faceless War Machines,” chronicles the life of conscripted soldiers forced to a doomed fate by their tyrannical overlords. The lyrics are accompanied by the band’s colossal, machine-gun rhythms and a soaring yet aggressive vocal delivery. Guitarist, Richard Clark, had the following to say about the track and the upcoming new album:
“I always describe our sound as heavy and aggressive while being contrasted by melody. This is very deliberate in how I approach songwriting and how the respective performances are captured. ‘Faceless War Machines,’ as well as the rest of the new album, demonstrate a lot of progression and maturity in our sound and our cohesiveness as a band. Among These Ashes is a melodic power/thrash metal band hailing from Detroit, Michigan (USA). The band’s central focus is the creation of stellar, highly-memorable metal songs. The group’s sound is crushingly heavy and punctuated by cerebral arrangements, thought-provoking lyrics, and dynamic shifts in tempo and aggression. Among These Ashes’ debut musical offering, Dominion Enthroned, is a conceptual tour de force, inspired by modern societal parallels and struggles. Originally released independently, the record was later re-released under a single-album contract with Alone Records on vinyl and CD formats.
In April 2023, the band released an original single, entitled “The Enemy in I,” which lyrically chronicles the woes of self-destruction. The band recorded a cover of “Sirens” by Savatage as an accompaniment to this release. In March 2024, Among These Ashes independently released a cover of W.A.S.P. track, “Restless Gypsy.”
The band features Jean-Pierre Abboud (Traveler) on lead and harmony vocals, Dylan Hamann (Variform) and Richard Clark on lead and rhythm guitars, Kane Bochatyn on bass, and Kyle Wagner (Nethergate) on drums. Together, this line-up is committed to its vision of consistently delivering uncompromisingly heavy music to the metal hordes.
