The new EP from international black metal duo Hammerfilosofi is now streaming a day ahead of its official release via Aeternitas Tenebrarum Musicae Fundamentum (ATMF).

After their much-acclaimed debut album – The Desolate One – Hammerfilosofi returns with a fiery assault on the senses, in the shape of an EP entitled SOLUS (Igne Natura Renovator Integra); four psalms of relentless, multi-layered, and hellish madness.
“The EP is an inward journey of spiritual violence and cathartic soul-searching”, comments NKTFR, and adds: “Both musically and lyrically, it picks up from where The Desolate One left off and continues in a bold leap into the dark unknown”.
Behind the music is as per usual the Norwegian-Italian duo – NKTFR and FCCM. Lyrics for the EP were penned by a long-time comrade of the band, Rune Vedaa from the legendary Norwegian Black Metal band Forgotten Woods.
“The EP is both a continuation of the debut and an ominous forewarning of what is to come. We continue our relentless march, spreading our sulfurous gospel”, concludes FCCM.

SOLUS was recorded at WS Studios during the Autumn of 2023 and Winter 2024. The EP was mastered by Magnus “Devo” Andersson at Endarker Studios during the Spring of 2024. Visual design by Francesco Gemelli.
Bio:
Hammerfilosofi was formed in 2020 amid global chaos, shutdowns, death, panic and pestilence. For some, this was a time of despair and mass hysteria, but for others, a time of solitude, contemplation, and inner strength. The idea behind the band, according to FCCM was quite simple:
“We want to take Black Metal back to its primeval and genuine meaning and purpose. To pick up the torch, and carry on the march that was begun centuries ago. We have no intention of reinventing the wheel, but to create and evolve what we consider to be Black Metal”.
In 2023 Hammerfilosofi unleashed their much acclaimed debut album The Desolate One, and true to their word it was uncompromising Black Metal at its finest. NKTFR comments:
“Both musically and conceptually we want to bring back some of that rebellious pride, wrath, and danger – some Blood, Fire, and Death – that for us are mandatory ingredients in Black Metal.”
This is Black Metal from the fertile earth of the graveyard – made for the battleground, for the wanderer who dares walk the path of no return – guided by nothing but His luminous darkness.
September 2024 and the band is ready to unleash their latest opus – an EP entitled SOLUS (Igne Natura Renovatur Integra) – four tracks of hellish madness and thunderous Black Metal.
FCCM concludes: “Conceptually and musically “SOLUS” is an inward journey of reflection and contemplation, but fear not – it is by no means a pleasant ride.”
