Swiss death-metal titans Conjonctive have just unleashed a brutal and blood-soaked new video for their track “Dying Melody,” premiering at No Clean Singing. The publication described the track as: “The song itself definitely does have an old school and brutal death metal vibe. It attacks like a combination of jolting, high-speed jackhammers and hungry circle saws in a feeding frenzy. The drumming maniacally batters but also continually shifts gears and patterns, just as the riffing does. The guitars, as their high, whirring sounds change, come to channel not only the unhinged viciousness of an assault but also the searing agony of the victim.”

“Dying Melody” is the second single taken from Conjonctive‘s upcoming third album Misère de Poussière, set to be released on November 22nd, 2024.

Vocalist Randy shared his thoughts on the song, stating: “When the guys sent me the first demo of this song I directly felt an old school and brutal death metal vibe. The construction of the song is simple and short, so I wanted to write easy and bloody lyrics: a torture session. Our video maker Corentin had the same feeling when he listened to this song for the first time and came up with a wicked script which is really close to the original story… but I won’t tell more, you have to watch it!”

If you missed it, the video for leading single “Ombre et Ordure” is still playing at this location.

Formed in 2007, Conjonctive quickly rose to prominence in the Swiss metal scene with their debut album, Until The Whole World Dies (2013, Tenacity Music). Their powerful performances and extensive touring, including opening for heavyweights like Crowbar, Biohazard, and Aborted, established them as a force to be reckoned with. Their acclaim was solidified with two M4Music awards for the single “Somnambulant Cannibal,” recognized as the demo of the year and the most promising Swiss rock song of 2014.
In 2017, Conjonctive returned with In The Mouth Of The Devil, a dark and aggressive album that showcased their technical growth. Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Vladimir Cochet at Conatus Studios, this album was another milestone in their career.

After a hiatus in 2019-2020 and significant lineup changes, including the addition of drummer Guido Wyss (formerly of Near Death Condition), Conjonctive is back with their most brutal work to date. Misère de Poussière represents a raw and unrefined approach, embracing an old-school death metal vibe and eschewing modern samples. Pre-orders are now available here.
