From March 31, 2025 to April 5, 2025 established acts such as Saltatio Mortis,Faun and Hämatom will storm the mountain region and turn the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region into the alpine center of heavy metal. The traditions of the Zillertal Alps will be perfectly combined with the passion of metalheads. There is so much more to offer than headbanging only: Next to shows and performances, metal fans can go skiing, snowboarding, winter hiking or explore the surrounding excursion destinations, relax with metal yoga, wellness and spa offers and enjoy local cuisine.
The idea for this extraordinary event in the mountains came from true metal experts: “In recent years, fans have been asking more and more often when there’s going to be an event in the mountains again,” explains Holger Hübner, co-promoter and co-founder of the legendary Wacken Open Air. “The answer is: now or never! Mayrhofen welcomed us with open arms, the response was extremely euphoric and the opportunities on site are fantastic.”
Managing director of Mayrhofen Tourist Board Andreas Lackner, a self-proclaimed metal fan, is also enthusiastic: “The mountains offer everything you need! In our holiday region March/April is one of the most beautiful and varied time of the year and with Full Metal Mayrhofen we are right in the middle of it. You can go skiing, snowboarding and hiking in winter – mountaineering, trail running and cycling in summer. While the valley turns green in spring, there’s still snow on the mountains. Many people ski in the morning and hop on their mountain bikes in the afternoon. For pedestrians there are winter hiking trails in the valley as well as up in the ski area. On top there are parties and the Zillertal cuisine in very own mountain huts and family-owned restaurants. We even have our own brewery!”
As first music acts the following bands have been confirmed for Full Metal Mayrhofen: Saltatio Mortis, Faun, Hämatom, Clawfinger, Deine Cousine, Warkings, All For Metal, Bokassa, Insanity Alert, Enemy Inside, Dominum, Serious Black, Skyline, Heavy Kevy, tuXedoo and Mit ohne Strom with more to come.

Fans can choose between tickets for the entire week and a weekend ticket. A festival ticket entitles them to access the numerous music events as part of Full Metal Mayrhofen. Visitors can put together own leisure activitiy programmes.
