DESERTED FEAR sign with Testimony Records

Testimony Records are proud to announce that fast-rising German death metal favourites DESERTED FEAR have signed an album deal with the label. Welcome to our deadly roster! DESERTED FEAR will release their sixth full-length via Testimony Records in 2025.

DESERTED FEAR comment: “Have you ever been to a place where you’ve never been before and it instantly felt like home?”, guitarist Fabian Hildebrandt asks. “This is exactly how we felt when we first got in touch with Testimony Records. They offer the perfect mix of professionalism and underground spirit, which is a perfect fit for us. We are stoked to have found our new home!”

Testimony Records state: “We’re thrilled to announce the signing of Deserted Fear”, label manager Thomas Strater enthuses. “I have been following their evolution from the beginning and I witnessed their meteoric rise from an aspiring underground act to what is now probably the most successful German death metal band of the modern era. This band has never rested on their laurels, but they have evolved their music on each new album while never denying their death metal roots.”

This might come as a surprise to the older generation of headbangers, but death metal is not a young genre anymore. Much of what this style can offer, has already been explored and repeated, and several branches of sub-genres extend into multiple directions.

The more remarkable and thrilling is the rise of East German death metal trio DESERTED FEAR. When the band was founded in the most appropriately named Thuringian city of Eisenberg (Iron Mountain), guitarist and vocalist Manuel “Mahne” Glatter, guitarist and main songwriter as well as producer Fabian Hildebrandt, and drummer Simon Mengs did probably not anticipate to end up at the forefront of the German scene.

Already their debut album “My Empire”, which was produced by Swedish legend Dan Swanö, hit the death metal crowd with a mighty impact in 2012. Immediate critical acclaim and enthusiastic reactions from the fans provided an excellent starting point for DESERTED FEAR. Their clever combination of beastly force, thunderous riffs, pummeling drums, and blood-curdling vocals with an uncanny knack for captivating melodies was apparent from the beginning. With each new album, the balance shifted steadily to the melodic side, yet without the band ever losing its vicious bite. “Kingdom of Worms” (2014), “Dead Shores Rising” (2017), “Drowned by Humanity”  (2019), and “Doomsday” (2022) all turned out as impressive milestones of DESERTED FEAR‘s still upward moving career.

The German also worked hard to acquire a reputation as an excellent live act. More than 250 shows across Europe, headlining and in support of such iconic acts as OBITUARY, AT THE GATES, MORBID ANGEL, DARK TRANQUILLITY, OVERKILL, and INSOMNIUM among many others speak volumes. Meanwhile, DESERTED FEAR have also performed at all relevant metal festivals of the continent.

DESERTED FEAR are currently preparing to release their upcoming sixth full-length via the label in 2025.
