Track previews highly anticipated seventh album, “The Final Stand,” out on 25 April 2025
Swedish power metal force The Storyteller are back with a vengeance. Today sees the release of a brand new lyric video for their thunderous single, “Fields of Blood and Steel”. The track is taken from their long-awaited seventh full-length album, “The Final Stand“, set to ignite speakers on 25 April 2025 via The Circle Music.
“Fields of Blood and Steel” is a power metal anthem that paints a vivid picture of desperate defense and unwavering resolve during war-time. The song transports listeners to a plateau overlooking a serene beach, now invaded by a hostile army. Witness the Allies, the island’s defenders, as they prepare for a desperate stand against overwhelming odds. “We make our stand on the fields of blood and steel – either we die or will be free,” the chorus cries, encapsulating the fierce spirit of those willing to sacrifice everything for their home.
“Fields of Blood and Steel” offers a powerful taste of what fans can expect from “The Final Stand”, The Storyteller’s first album in ten years. After a period of dormancy, the band has returned with renewed energy, recapturing the core essence of their signature sound. This resurgence is fueled by a potent creative partnership between vocalist L-G Persson and Cedrick Forsberg (Blazon Stone). Forsberg’s outreach to Persson ignited the flame, resulting in an album that Persson himself declares a landmark achievement for the band.

“The Final Stand” will be available in digital formats, black vinyl, transparent blue vinyl, and jewel case CD, marking a new chapter for The Storyteller as they find a new home with Greek-based label The Circle Music.
Formed in 1998, The Storyteller quickly carved their place in the power metal landscape. From their debut album recorded in the legendary Studio Fredman in 2000, through five subsequent releases, they have honed a distinctive sound – power metal interwoven with medieval melodies and imaginative, fantasy-driven narratives. Known for their epic storytelling, both musically and lyrically, The Storyteller have previously shared stages with genre titans including Helloween, Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, and Bruce Kulick (ex-Kiss).
“The Final Stand” has already garnered significant praise. Their first single, “They Will Fear Our Battlecry”, a driving anthem depicting a final, desperate battle, was released with a lyric video and immediately resonated with fans. Now, with “Fields of Blood and Steel”, The Storyteller further solidify their triumphant return.
