Underground classic ONHEIL “Black Metal Iron Maiden” albums re-released by BLACK LION RECORDS

Dutch Blackened Death Metal band ONHEIL continues their “25 Years of ONHEIL” celebrations with the re-release of their albums “Razor” (2009) and “Storm Is Coming” (2014). These two hard-to-find albums have been reissued on CD by Swedish metal specialists BLACK LION RECORDS, with distribution handled by SOUND POLLUTION.

The albums showcased ONHEIL‘s distinctive style, blending the speed and intensity of Black and Death Metal with melodic, heavy metal-inspired guitar work. These releases earned critical acclaim and enthusiastic support from fans. This fairly unique sound, combined with their three-guitarist lineup, initially earned them the nickname “Black Metal Iron Maiden.”

ONHEIL‘s growing reputation in the underground scene secured them spots at major European open-air festivals and numerous opening shows alongside metal legends like MAYHEM, ROTTING CHRIST, VADER, and ASPHYX. With their furious yet melodic sound, ONHEIL built a dedicated international following known as the OMEGA LEGIONS. However, due to long-standing lineup challenges followed by COVID-related setbacks, the band’s activity slowed down around 2016.

ONHEIL made a powerful return in June 2023 with their album “In Black Ashes”, released by BLACK LION RECORDS. The comeback album received high praise from both fans and metal media, pushing their sound in a more extreme direction while maintaining a strong melodic touch. Legendary producer Dan Swanö handled the mixing and mastering at Unisound Studios, while vocals and drums were recorded by Jonathan Merrelaar at Red Pack Studios). Guitar recordings were assisted by Bart Hennephof (TEXTURES) at Creative Music Lab.

To celebrate their 25th anniversary, ONHEIL is marking the occasion with exclusive old-school set performances, sharing rare photos and videos from their extensive history, and re-releasing older albums and demos to introduce their music to a new generation of metalheads.
