Basinfirefest is back with a solid lineup update. This June, legends of American hardcore Hatebreed, thrash metal titans Assassin, melodic death metal pioneers Carcass, and three major Czech acts—Debustrol, Henych 666, and Pačess & Bára Basiková—will all make their way to Spálené Poříčí.
Hatebreed have been spreading their hardcore message for over 30 years. Their debut album Satisfaction is the Death of Desire was released in 1997, and since then, they’ve put out eight full-length records and toured the world countless times. Their unrelenting mix of old-school hardcore and ‘90s metalcore has rightfully earned them a place among the genre’s greats.
Carcass, hailing from Liverpool, have rewritten the history of heavy guitar music not once, but twice. First in 1988, when their debut Reek of Putrefaction pioneered the emerging grindcore movement, and again in the mid-‘90s, when Heartwork helped define what we now call melodic death metal.
Keeping the spirit of classic rock alive, The Dead Daisies – an Australian-American formation—have been on a mission since 2012 to resurrect the timeless essence of ‘70s hard rock with a modern twist. Their name and aesthetic draw inspiration from Jon Stevens’ influence and the vivid imagery of Mexico’s Día de los Muertos celebrations.
Traveling all the way from Iceland, Sólstafir will bring their unique sound to Spálené Poříčí. Over the past 30 years, they’ve evolved from orthodox black metal into an atmospheric blend of post-rock, doom metal, and ambient rock.
Death metal diehards will be treated to a brutal set from Sinister, the Dutch veterans who have been dominating stages since 1988. For something truly unconventional, Master Boot Record from Italy delivers a fusion of 8-bit video game soundscapes and electronic metal—an experience unlike any other.
Fans of symphonic metal won’t be disappointed either. The Ukrainian band Ignea combines symphonic and folk elements with crushing riffs, breakdowns, and blast beats, while Germany’s Leaves’ Eyes will showcase a more traditional approach to the genre.
The list of new additions is rounded out by three legendary Czech metal acts: Debustrol, who have been delivering raw, no-nonsense thrash metal since 1986, Henych 666, founded by bassist and vocalist Vlasta Henych after his departure from Törr in 2010. After a highly successful premiere in October, Henych666 will perform a special set for the last time, featuring a full live rendition of Törr’s legendary 1991 album Institut Klinické Smrti. The trio is completed by Pačess & Bára Basiková, an intriguing collaboration between black metal project Pačess and Czech rock icon Bára Basiková, who will bring their latest album Katechismus to life on stage.
