Swedish death metal force Övervåld returns with a new EP titled “Vigarv”—a four-track barrage of relentless aggression, misanthropy, and unfiltered brutality. Set for release on April 18th on CD and digital download (with a vinyl release planned for May via Seven Metal Inches Records), Vigarv refines Övervåld’s signature fusion of the classic HM-2 sound with ferocious black metal influences, delivering an uncompromising and devastating sonic assault.
Named after an ancient Swedish term for “revenge,” Vigarv pushes the band’s intensity to new heights—vicious, razor-sharp, and unapologetically heavy. This EP captures Övervåld at their most primal, showcasing blistering riffs, crushing rhythms, and fierce vocals that embody the raw essence of death metal.
Fronted by the fierce Rebecca Holm, alongside Joachim Lyngfelt (Crawl, ex-Decomposed) and Peter Engström (ex-Setherial), Övervåld channels raw fury and despair into an EP that is as vicious as it is infectious. From the first note, you’ll be hit with blistering riffs, crushing rhythms, and vocals that cut through the mix like a war cry.
Pre-orders and new tracks will be revealed soon.
