It is with great pleasure that today we unveal the cover of NIHILI LOCUS album “Semper” out on June 20th. Created by the great Norwegian photographer Kjetil Karlsen (www.kjetilkarlsen.com), the pic fully represents the essence of their music made of soft lights, dark atmospheres and extreme sounds. With “Semper” we will release “Nihil Morte Certium” that is the reprint for the first time on double vinyl of the band’s entire discography including “Mors” never released in physical format and “Premature Exequie” the 1991 demo of the first NIHILI LOCUS’ incarnation when their moniker was OMIDIDIO.
Both works have beed completely re-mastered in a spectacular way by Giuseppe “Buzz” Nicolò at Lost Soul Studio and feature covers created by the same Kjetil Karlsen
Last, but not least, a celebratory BOX titled “Ineffabilis Memoriae Regurgitatio” limited to only 75 copies, will be out on the same day. It will include all the already mentioned new and old stuff, plus exclusive merchandise. NIHILI LOCUS come from Turin area and were born from the band OMICIDIO, formed in 1989, with Massimo Currò (bs), Mauro Veronese (gt), Bruno Blasi (v) and Roberto Ripollino (dr).
After the recordings of the demo “Premature Exequie” in 1991, the band change their name in NIHILI LOCUS and in 1992 Valeria De Benedictis (gt) joined the group who released quite soon the 7″EP “Sub Hyerosolima…” distributed by Obscure Plasma Records. In 1994 they released the concept tape “…Advesperascit…” which led them to have their first official contract with Boundless Recs, for the release of the MCD “…Ad Nihilum Recidunt Omnia” in 1996 recorded with keyboardist Simone Fanciotto.
In the years to come the group’s activity was very unstable, until 2009 when they found themselves in an essential formation with the original members Massimo Currò (bs), Mauro Veronese (gt), and Roberto Ripollino (dr). With this line-up, it was recorded “Mors” only available for free download online. In the following years, Terror From Hell released a collection of all the recordings up to 1996 on CD.
The last years has served the band to concentrate on the conception, creation and recordings of the new album “Semper”, the release that will finally allow the band to reap the fruits of a career always characterized by a melancholic pathos embodied in a dark sonorous extremism.
“Semper”, along with the reissue and celebratory box, is scheduled for June 20th 2025, all on My Kingdom Music.
