“Mörkrets Spiral” deeply digs in the dark corners of the Self. When your soul feeds with fears and torments, you can’t find a way to go out from an endless spiral of negativity. Your humanity is lost, forever.
“Svartsyn” is the 3rd release from MYLINGEN, an EP following the debut album “Under En Svart Himmel” released in 2024. The sound is a bit more aggressive here, but still maintains the melancholy and melody from previous releases. Thematically the EP is a journey through the dark recesses of man, exploring themes such as depression, hate, deception, and lust. All lyrics and song titles are again in Swedish.
MYLINGEN was founded by Swedish multi-instrumentalist Viktor Jonas in 2022 from the ashes of his previous band Apathy Noir, which he disbanded after some 16 years. The idea behind Mylingen was to take the foundation from Apathy Noir and expand with new musical and lyrical ideas. A more free form where the music could draw inspiration from a variety of genres and styles and with an aim to incorporate more traditional folk music in both music and lyrics.
