SOBERNOT releases new single & videoclip: “The Burgundy Witch”

The Groove metal band continues to push forward, unveiling fresh material with an updated sound.

The Burgundy Witch is the band’s first release since their acclaimed album “Destroy” (2022).

This new track signals a pivotal chapter in Sobernot’s journey, as they approach their first decade, showcasing a refined and renewed sound while staying true to their musical roots.

To craft these new textures, the band collaborated with one of the most respected producers in the South American metal scene, four-time Pulsar Award winner Pancho Arenas. He handled the production, mixing, and mastering of the track, which was recorded at Gabelo Studios, solidifying The Burgundy Witch as a significant creative milestone for Sobernot.

According to Pancho Arenas: “Working with Sobernot during the production was a very instinctive process from an artistic standpoint. As soon as I heard the demo, it immediately transported me to a horror film, which made the entire experience flow very comfortably and aligned with the atmosphere we aimed to convey.” About the band, he adds: “I feel that this new single marks a rejuvenation for them, as they open up to new sonic territories”.

Alongside the single’s debut, Sobernot is premiering a music video that mixes footage of the band with visuals inspired by witchcraft and the occult, taken from the silent-era horror classic Häxan, lending a dark and mysterious aesthetic to the piece. The release date was intentionally chosen to coincide with the first Salem Witch trial execution, which occurred on April 19, 1692.
