Three years after their latest single “Fiumi in piena”, Italian Christian Catholic Metal Masters Metatrone return with a brand new track titled “Emmaus” — the first single taken from their long-awaited fifth studio album.
Fueled by a renewed energy and strengthened by the comeback of iconic frontman Jo Lombardo, “Emmaus” is a bold artistic and spiritual statement. Written by founding duo David Brown and Ghigas, the song dives deep into the band’s core message: an unshakable blend of faith, power and progressive metal.
With Simone Alberti on drums and Alex Palazzo on bass (both joining in 2022), the band’s sound has evolved — sharper, heavier and enriched by technical thrash nuances while keeping the signature melodic hooks intact. “Emmaus” is a mid-tempo anthem that fuses spiritual passion with musical fire.
On the meaning behind the song, David Brown shares:
“‘Emmaus’ is a powerful comeback for us — musically, spiritually, emotionally. Inspired by the Gospel of Luke, it reflects our renewed strength and commitment to spreading our faith in Jesus Christ, our love for the Catholic Church and our never-ending devotion to metal music. We are back and we’re louder than ever.”
The new album is finally set to be released this coming winter and more previews will be revealed in the months to come.
Stay tuned!
