On July 14th internationally, BlackSeed Productions is proud to present the striking debut mini-album of Stockholm, Sweden’s Lepra, Mortuus Morgana, on CD and 12″ vinyl formats.
BlackSeed Productions feels excited to announce that we have reached an agreement with the young Swedish band Lepra for the release and distribution of their first recording, Mortuus Morgana, on both vinyl and CD formats. With this recording, they bring forth all the finest memories of the glorious Swedish death / black metal scene from the golden ’90s era but with a very personal approach. Released online by the band themselves in December 2024, they rapidly got the attention of various labels, and whilst Stygian Black Hand from the US is taking care of the cassette version, BlackSeed will release Lepra‘s first recording on both 12″ vinyl and digipack CD.
Mortuus Morgana shows an extremely tight band for the time they have been playing, and even if Lepra do not hide their influences, taken from such bands as old Dissection, earliest Watain, Regugnant, or even Dismember, they inject their sound with a very personal “dark” approach and a masterful use of acoustic guitar parts. Lepra themselves refer to their sound as “Cadaver Rock from Stockholm,” but unlike what you can read in some places online, their sound is really dark, gloomy, melodic, and furious death / black metal.
