Relapse Records is proud to announce the signing of Fukouka, Japan’s FESTERDECAY.
Formed in 2016 out of the Japanese underground, FESTERDECAY has crawled out from the darkness of extreme music, transforming goregrind into a corrosive form of art. Inspired by real life horrors of lust, murder, and the unspeakable acts by the likes of infamous killers like Issei Sagawa, the band is hailed by Decibel Magazine as “high-energy chaos.”
Sonically, the band expands on the framework laid by forefathers such as Carcass, their peers in Pharmacist, Exhumed, Catasexual Urge Motivation and more, producing some of the most disgusting sounds in metal.

Following the release of their self-titled demo, various singles and a split, FESTERDECAYis poised to follow up the release of 2023’s Reality Rotten to the Core with their Relapse debut of an even more vile and violent new album.
With the new material looming ahead, FESTERDECAY stands at the crossroads of filth and philosophy. In their own words, the band aims to depict “the sound of a soul rotting away.”
