OSKOREIEN Announce New Album “Hollow Fangs” – Opening Track Now Streaming

Los Angeles-based black metal project OSKOREIEN emerges with their long-awaited third full-length release, Hollow Fangs.

After years as a solo endeavor masterminded by guitarist/vocalist/programmer Jay Valena, OSKOREIEN expands its sonic arsenal with the addition of guitarist Rashid Nadjib for Hollow Fangs. The result is as unsettling as it is hypnotic. Featuring dissonant riffing and moments of bleak beauty, Hollow Fangs solidifies OSKOREIEN’s place in the lineage of thought-provoking black metal that challenges both genre and listener.

OSKOREIEN has shared a stream of the album’s opening track, “Prismatic Reason.” Valena comments on the song:

“‘Prismatic Reason’ is a meditation on the double-edged sword of human consciousness. How reason can illuminate or distort; create or destroy. The song evokes the anguish of searching for meaning amidst chaos and betrayal, set to an urgent and cathartic musical attack.”

The exclusive premiere of “Prismatic Reason” comes via extreme metal outlet No Clean Singing. Listen now at this location.

Hollow Fangs is due out on July 18. Pre-order now at www.oskoreien.com

Tracklist:

1) Prismatic Reason

2) Bernalillo Sunrise

3) Psychotischism

4) Fragments

5) To Kiss the Viper’s Fang

Hollow Fangs was produced, recorded, engineered, and mixed by Jay Valena in Los Angeles, and mastered by Jack Shirley at Atomic Garden Studios. Cover photo and art design by Jay Valena. Stained glass by Williams Burges, Cardiff Castle, Wales.

Formed in 2003 by composer and multi-instrumentalist Jay Valena, OSKOREIEN has long balanced atmospheric fury with philosophical weight. The band’s debut album was featured on Invisible Oranges’ “Best of 2011” list, and the concept album All Too Human explored free will and morality via the tragic story of Charles Whitman. After two full-length albums and a split EP with fellow Californians Botanist as a solo project, Oskoreien returns for a third album, Hollow Fangs

Line-up:

Jay Valena – Vocals, lead & rhythm guitar, drum programming, bass (tracks 1, 5), synthesizer

Rashid Nadjib – Rhythm guitar

Matthew Durkee – Bass (tracks 2, 3, 4)
