Norwegian post-black metal trio ROSA FAENSKAP are back with their most ferocious material to date: a new single titled “Klarhet i kaos” (“Clarity in Chaos”), the first glimpse of their forthcoming sophomore album, due out later this year via Fysisk Format.
The track premiered via Heavy Blog Is Heavy, who praised it saying: “Black metal is the fuel here, creating that signature contrast between vulnerability, struggle, intimacy, and derision that the genre is so good for.”
If their acclaimed debut Jeg blir til deg (2023) oscillated between aggression and beauty, “Klarhet i kaos” throws both into a blender and lights it on fire.
“Klarhet i kaos represents a struggle between the internal and the external,” the band explains. “The song gives voice to the feeling of one’s identity being obvious and self-evident – yet still thrown into turmoil by external hatred and ignorance. It explores the difficulty of understanding and accepting oneself when faced with contradictory rhetoric and pressure to conform. The emotional tensions explored in the track are reflected musically through a contrasting soundscape of menacing walls of noise, soft ambient landscapes, and playful melodies.”
Line-Up:
