Italian/Malaysian symphonic power metal band Silent Angel proudly unveil a major update to their lineup: drummer Albar Omar officially joins the band as a permanent member.
Hailing from the state of Pahang in Peninsular Malaysia, Albar brings over two decades of experience and a powerful musical identity rooted in groove and progressive metal. Drawing inspiration from bands such as Lamb of God, Slayer, Dream Theater, Periphery, God Forbid and Greylotus, his drumming style blends precision, power and complexity. Among his most influential drummers are legends like Dave Lombardo, Matt Halpern, Buddy Rich and Chris Adler.
A well-known presence in Malaysia’s underground and indie metal scene, Albar continues to perform with the groove metal band Daylight Descends, while now also committing his talent and energy to Silent Angel’s future.
His arrival marks a key step in the band’s renewed journey. With a new Asian tour scheduled for later in 2025 (details coming soon) and studio work planned for the upcoming full-length album set for release in 2026, Albar’s entry reinforces the band’s ambitious roadmap.
Fans can expect to witness his technical prowess and passionate drumming both on stage and in the band’s highly anticipated sophomore album.
