Over a decade after their 2012 debut Mournful Cry of a Dying Sun, melodic doom/death metal band FALLING LEAVES return with their long-awaited sophomore full-length, The Silence That Binds Us, set for release on September 5, 2025. The album features eight emotionally charged tracks and includes guest contributions from Paul Kuhr (Novembers Doom) on vocals, Ariel Perchuk (Kenziner, Roger Staffelbach) on keyboards, and Fabio Alessandrini (Bonfire, Annihilator) on drums. Mastering was handled by the renowned Dan Swanö, further elevating the album’s sonic depth.
“This album marks an important chapter for us. After so many years, it feels great to finally share something we truly believe in. Every song reflects a piece of who we are today — honest, emotional, and real. We’re proud of what we’ve created and excited for everyone to hear it.” – says Bashar Haroun (Vocals).

Formed in 2009, Falling Leaves emerged from the shadows to carve out a distinctive niche within the melodic death doom metal genre. Spearheaded by a shared passion for creating music that encapsulates the profound and often melancholic aspects of the human experience, the band drew deep inspiration from doom metal icons such as My Dying Bride and Novembers Doom.
Their music is a tapestry woven with the themes intrinsic to doom metal: despair, existential dread, and the passage of time, reflecting a haunting exploration of lifes darker passages. With an atmosphere that is both heavy and melodic, they transcend the typical confines of their genre, crafting soundscapes that are as introspective as they are intense.
In the same year of their inception, Falling Leaves independently released their first demo album, Falling Leaves, which introduced their ethereal yet crushing sound to an emerging fan base. This early work laid the foundation for greater things to come and illustrated their potential within the metal scene. 2012 marked a significant milestone with the release of their full-length album, Mournful Cry of a Dying Sun, under the Endless Winter label. This album was a grand realization of their sound, mixed and mastered at Clintworks in Hamburg, Germany by Dennis Israel, former assistant engineer to Jens Bogrenfamous for his work with titans like Opeth and Amon Amarth. Mournful Cry of a Dying Sun was enriched by the collaboration of notable names in the metal community. Featuring guest contributions from Paul Kuhr of Novembers Doom, Pete Johansen (The Sins of Thy Beloved, Morgul, Tristania), and Olof Gothlin from Draconian, the album soared as a masterpiece of emotional and sonic depth.
Now, after more than a decade, the band returns with their second full-length album The Silence That Binds Us. Mixed by Alessandro Comerio at Daemon Star Studio in Italy and mastered by the legendary Dan Swano, the album is a mature and emotionally charged testament to their growth and perseverance. With lyrics written by Murad Juneydi and guest appearances by Paul Kuhr and renowned session musicians, the new album marks a powerful continuation of the bands legacy.
