RAGEFUL returns with a devastating new single, “Black Hole,” set for release on August 29, 2025.
Known for their old school death metal sonority, with heavy riffs and blast beats, Rageful delivers a searing critique of modern society, where value is traded for vanity, and pride becomes a commodity.
Emerging from Lisbon’s underground scene, Rageful first erupted with their 2020 debut album Ineptitude, and followed it with a punishing split EP alongside with their “brothers in arms” Ruttenskalle in 2024. With “Black Hole,” the band ventures into even darker, more introspective territory.
The lyrics tear through themes of systemic greed and personal compromise with venomous precision:
“Fake promises, with a price to pay.
What coin will you use to feed the bastards?
Your sweat and pain, mean nothing to them.
Would you prefer to stay on an Island of Pride?”
By the end of the song, “Black Hole” pulls listeners into the void, a place where pride is sold, honor is lost, and mediocrity rules – leaving them with the message
“Get in the Hole,
Sell your pride and honor.
Get in the Hole,
Get sucked into dishonor.
Until something greater uncovers the diamonds”
Speaking on the release, Rageful states:
“This song is a reflection of the world we live in, where value is determined by what you’re willing to trade away. We wrote ‘Black Hole’ to challenge that idea, to scream against it.”
“Black Hole” will be released August 29 on all major streaming platforms, accompanied by a visualizer that matches its bleak message and power.
